Marine Mechanic

 

Sunburst Marine is looking for a marine mechanic to join our team.

Marine mechanic/tech wanted to service inboard and outboard motors. The position focuses on the repair and maintenance and repair of our customers’ watercraft.

 

This position requires trouble-shooting skills, mechanical aptitude, and ability to repair and maintain all types of watercraft.

 

The candidate will also:

  • Follow procedures, self motivate, pay attention to detail

  • Communicate with customers and coworkers in a professional manner

  • Complete service in a timely manner

 

This is a full time 12-month position with benefits. Pay is based on experience and will be discussed during interview.

Marine Mechanic Apprentice

Sunburst Marine is seeking an apprentice with mechanical aptitude who is eager to develop their mechanical skill set. The candidate will work under the supervision of one of our mechanics and shop supervisor.

 

The position focuses on the repair and maintenance and repair of our customers’ watercraft.

To do well in this position, you will need to be dedicated to improving your skill set and capable of learning on the job. It would be beneficial if you were good with your hands and already had some familiarity with basic engine repair and maintenance tasks.

Mechanic Apprentice Responsibilities:

  • Follow the instructions given to by a supervisor

  • Perform basic repairs under the guidance of a mechanic

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks like oil changes

  • Assist management with any other tasks as requested

 

This is a full time 12-month position with benefits. Pay is based on experience and will be discussed during interview.

 

 

 

Service Writer

Sunburst Marine is seeking a service writer to act as a liaison between customers and service staff and ultimately advocate for customer needs. They will be responsible for handling customer paperwork and maintaining organized and accurate customer records. Also, the candidate will coordinate launch/haul out activity for winter storage.

 

This is a full time 12-month position with benefits. Pay is based on experience and will be discussed during interview.

Service writer responsibilities include:

 

  • Maintain high standards of customer service with customers and co-workers.

  • Inspect boats with the customer and make appropriate notes on work order

  • Secure customer approval including labor, parts, delivery time, and method of payment or warranty prior to start of work by obtaining customer signatures

  • Able to learn electronic payment systems and computer applications

  • Contact customers regarding additional work that may need to be performed and at completion of work.

  • Complete all related data entry timely and accurately to ensure timely billing

  • Document before and after work with pictures and put into customer file

  • Answer phones; manage telephone inquiries quickly and courteously
